Recooler

Every cooling device needs to release heat to the environment. Every adsorption chiller has a warm water circuit with water temperature between 22°C and 45°C, which is used to take the low-temperature heat away from the adsorption chiller. If there is no demand for warm water, a steady output of low-temperature heat has to be established. The recooler is used to dissipate this low-temperature heat into the environment.

A recooler is a water-air heat exchanger used to dissipate the low-temperature heat into ambient air. The recooler is installed outside of the building. The recooler can be installed on the roof, on the wall, or on foundation next to the building. Using water as a cooling medium enables to place the recooler away from the building.

ART-KLIMA offers several different recoolers designed to suit the adsorption system of every size at every location. Just like the adsorption chillers, the recoolers can be connected together to make an efficient system. Recoolers can be ised in residential, commercial and public buildings, as well as several types of industrial buildings.

Recooler with spray system

Spray system greatly increases the thermal efficiency, and maximal output of your adsorption system. In summer the air is often hot but dry. Conventional recooler works on the principle of convection, and cannot cool water below the ambient air temperature. This limits the cooling output of the system in the hottest days.

Recooler with spray system uses take water from the water grid and sprays it on the fins of the heat exchanger. The water evaporates thus cooling the fins and the warm water flowing through the heat exchanger. Spray system greatly increases the efficiency and cooling power of your adsorption system, particularly on hot summer days.

Separation system

The recooler is ussually placed outside of the building, and thus is exposed to the elements. Warm water circuit operates on ordinary water and thus is prone to freezing when both the heat output and the outdoor temperatures are very low. A recooler mounted outdoors has to be filled with a non-freezing liquid (i.e. water-glycol mixture).

The chiller works best when the warm water circuiit is filled with water, not glycol, therefore we offer a separation system to transfer the waste heat from the warm water circuit to the recooler circuit. The separation system allows the recooler to work in those locations, where the temperature may fall below the freezing point of water.
